10th November:
We are so thrilled to announce that we have been awarded Second Prize for the Rolls-Royce Science Prize 2016.  Over 2000 schools applied and to be make the final 6 teams was incredible but to win a further £5000 to develop science in our school is amazing.  The team would like to thank all pupils, parents and staff for their support and contribution to our project.  Please take a look at our gallery.

11th October:
We are looking forward to celebrating the work of the Space and Astronomy Team in November at the Rolls-Royce Science Prize Awards Ceremony in London.  We are so pleased with how the project has developed across the school and are looking forward to our next Stargazing session.  Keep checking the website for dates to put in the diary!

10th February:
We have so much still to come in our Space and Astronomy project and so many important dates for your diaries so please make a note of the events below:
2nd March:  Primary 1 and 2 will have a visit from Generation Science to learn all about Day and Night
2nd March:  Primary 1 will go stargazing to Whitelee Windfarm - all parents and family members welcome. 
9th March:  Primary 2 and 3 After school club will start with a Rocket Launch Academy
16th March:
All primary 2 and 3 pupils will visit the Glasgow Science Centre Planetarium
23rd March: 
Primary 2and 3 will go stargazing to Whitelee Windfarm
30th March:  Rolls-Royce Science Prize Mentor, Neil Chattle will visit the school for 2 days
30th March:  Primary 6 and 7 to visit Glasgow Observatory
31st March:  Whole School Nasa Space Conference and reporting on research


3rd February:
What a wonderful night stargazing with our Primary 4 pupils.  Thank you to all those pupils, parents, brothers and sisters who joined us tonight.  The stars shone brightly for us and the Primary 4 pupils really impressed us with their knowledge of the Night Sky. 


20th January:
Today our Primary 4 pupils enjoyed a full day visit to the Science Centre which was fully funded by our Rolls-Royce Science Prize.  The pupils had the opportunity to watch a 3D film about the International Space Station in the IMax theatre and Train Like Astronauts on the Space floor.  We have plenty more opportunities coming up for other primaries including a visit from Generation Science to Primary 1 and 2 pupils and a visit to the brand new Planetarium in the Science Centre for Primary 2 and 3 pupils.  The Primary 5 pupils will also visit the Glasgow Observatory to do some stargazing and we will be back at Whitelee Windfarm on the 3rd February with our Primary 4 pupils.

19th January:
Tonight was the first of our Primary 4 Space and Astronomy After school clubs!  The pupils learned all about rocket launching and even created their own.  Head over to our school gallery to see the photos!

11th January:  Stargazing Evening
Welcome back everyone to what is due to be a very exciting term with our Space and Astronomy Science Prize.  Tomorrow night, Tuesday 12th January, we are hoping to see a large number of Primary 5 pupils joining us at Whitelee Windfarm for our Stargazing Evening.  Our Primary 4 after school clubs will begin on Tuesday 19th January and continue on Wednesday 20th January with a full day visit to Glasgow Science Centre.

24th November:  Stargazing and Space Club
Primary 5 will begin their 4 week after school Space and Astronomy club today from 3.15pm - 4.30pm.  We look forward to seeing you all there! 

The weather looks good for tonight and we are excited about taking our Primary 6 and 7 pupils stargazing tonight at Whitelee Windfarm.  Remember if you plan to travel by bus please be in the Church carpark no later than 6.40pm.

11th November: Rolls-Royce Visit
Miss Timmons was very pleased to represent the school at Rolls-Royce in Derby on Sunday and attend the award ceremony to celebrate last year's finalists in London on Monday evening.  This has made us even more excited about our Science Prize project and we can't wait to represent the school next year at the awards ceremony in London and celebrate all our pupils' hard work!

6th October:
Many thanks to all pupils and parents who attended our first Stargazing Evening at Whitelee Windfarm.  This was a great success and we are glad to have spotted so many stars.  Our whole school Stargazing Events will take place on the week beginning 26th October.  More information will be issued nearer the time.  


Today we had our very first Space and Astronomy after school club for our Primary 7 pupils.  Remember this will run for 4 weeks and on our final night, we will make our way to Whitelee Windfarm to do some real stargazing!
