As a Roman Catholic school, Religious and Moral Education and Religious Observance play an essential part in the education of our children and the ethos of our school.   Our Faith plays a large role in contributing to our values of Friendship, Kindness, Resilience, Respect and Fairness.  Our work in this area is carried out in close partnership with the Parish of Saint Vincent's, East Kilbride.   Our school is very much a part of the wider parish community and our children are regular visitors to the church where  they participate in Readings, Prayers, Offertory Procession and the Singing at all school masses.  Throughout the year, every class will have responsibility for preparing at least one Mass Celebration and those dates can be found below. We always welcome the parents and wider community to join us in celebrating Mass.

School staff work closely with the Parish Priest, Fr. Romanus to support parents in the preparation of their children for the Sacraments and other religious events.

We use This Is Our Faith as the main resource for our teaching of RE, although staff are encouraged to use a variety of different resources to enhance the RE Curriculum.    Motherwell Diocese have a Website to help parents prepare the children for the Sacraments - Clink the Link rcdomparents  at the top of the page for more information.

Through this work we seek to develop an understanding and love of our own faith, knowledge of Christianity and other World Faiths and a better understanding and tolerance of ourselves and others. The curriculum in Roman Catholic schools builds on the openness of Catholic schools to other young people regardless of denominations and faiths.

This Is Our Faith will help parents, teachers, catechists and clergy to ensure that young people can:

• develop their knowledge and understanding of Catholic faith
• nurture respect for other Christian traditions and world faiths
• experience opportunities for spiritual growth
• acquire the skills of reflection, discernment and moral decision-making
• commit to beliefs, values and actions in a positive response to God’s invitation to faith.
